Subject

Description

The U.S. Navy Iowa Class battleship USS Wisconsin (BB-64) is tied up outboard of the hulk of USS Oklahoma (BB-37), at the Pearl Harbor Navy Yard, Hawaii (USA), on 11 November 1944. The photo shows how battleship technology has changed with experience from the North Carolina Class Battleships. Notice the size of the ships as Oklahoma is from the dreadnought era of Battleships. Oklahoma is being salvaged for usable parts as she was unable to be repaired for action.
