Subject

Description

Standard issue small arms during WWII. Pictured are the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Browning Automatic Rifle, M3 Grease Gun, Johnson Model 1941, and the 1911 Pistol. Not pictured: Colt M1917 Revolver, and Thompson submachine gun. All of these guns are important because this was the first time that all standard-issue weapons were semiautomatic or fully automatic. The Americans were a step ahead with small arms because the standard-issue rifles for our allies and the axis were bolt action.
